At Movement Made, we believe movement is more than just what the body does — it’s how we connect, express, and feel. And the important message is that you don’t need hours in the studio to reconnect with yourself. Small moments of movement can shift your energy and bring balance into even the busiest day.
Our ambassador Marie Risvik (@marierisvik) embodies this philosophy through her practice of yoga, pilates, and acrobatics. With a background in contemporary dance, she’s learned that true movement goes beyond form and appearance.
“I’ve been doing contemporary dance before, and there it’s such a focus on expression and how it looks. But movement is so much more than just how it looks,” Marie shares.
“It’s really about tuning in to how it feels — what feels good for your body — and connecting.”
In her calm, grounded way, Marie reminds us that movement isn’t about performance. It’s about presence — feeling your body, your breath, your energy. It’s about finding freedom and joy in motion, no matter the shape it takes.
Whether it’s a handstand, a walk in nature, or a deep stretch, movement can be an act of care and self-connection. Because as Marie shows us — movement is so much more than the physical practice of it.

.. even during a busy day at work
Marie’s words are a reminder that movement doesn’t have to live only in the studio. It can be woven into the rhythm of your day — small, intentional moments that lift your energy, ground your mind, and bring balance to your body.
Here are a few simple ways to create that balance:
Practice handstands after breakfast
A playful way to wake up your body and boost blood flow — it sets the tone for an energized morning. And with a movement pad you can enjoy your movement breaks anywhere! Bring it a long – or put it in your office!
Take a walk during or after lunch
Get some fresh air, let the sun hit your face, and feel the grass under your feet. A mid-day walk resets both body and mind.
2.1 Next level movement tip: Next time you need to catch up with a colleague or friend, try turning it into a walking meeting. It’s a simple way to add movement into your workday.
Research shows that walking increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain, helping you think more clearly and creatively. Studies from Stanford University found that people generate up to 60% more creative ideas when walking compared to sitting. The steady rhythm of movement also helps lower stress and makes conversation flow more naturally.
Stretch before you end your workday
A few minutes of release — even just hanging from a door frame — can help you unwind and leave tension behind.
By connecting these elements of movement to your existing daily routines, it becomes easier to implement these little energy boosters throughout your day. Movement doesn’t have to be complex. It’s about tuning in, finding balance, and letting simple moments of movement bring you back to yourself.
