  • The Essential Calisthenics Equipment You Need for a Full-Body Workout

    bodyweight workout and calisthenics skills

    What is calisthenics?

Calisthenics is a form of exercise that uses your own body weight to build strength and endurance. The best part? You don't need any fancy equipment or a gym membership to get started. However, there are a few key pieces of calisthenics equipment that can help you take your workouts to the next level. In this guide, we'll explore the essential calisthenics equipment you need to get fit and strong at home.

    Resistance Bands

Resistance bands or rubber bands are a versatile and affordable piece of calisthenics equipment that can help you build strength and increase flexibility. They come in a variety of resistance levels, so you can choose the right band for your fitness level and goals. Use them for exercises like bicep curls, tricep extensions, and squats to add resistance and challenge to your workouts. Plus, they're lightweight and portable, making them easy to take with you on the go.

    Pull-up bars and/ or rings

An equipment for pull exercises is a must-have in calisthenics for anyone looking to build upper body strength. It allows you to perform exercises like pull-ups, chin-ups, hanging leg raises, front and back lever and a lot of other cool exercises, which target your back, biceps, and core muscles.

There are various types of pull-up bars available, including doorway bars, wall-mounted bars, and free-standing bars. Choose the one that best fits your space and budget, and get ready to take your upper body workouts to the next level.

Another way to build your upper body strength is to use gymnastic rings. Rings can be used in combination with a pull-up bar or alone, where you hang your rings wherever is possible – like in your sealing or in a tree for example. Rings are maybe even more affordable and very easy to bring. The minimalist gym rings can even be set up with a door anchor (integrated with the straps).

With minimalist gym rings, you can explore the calisthenics discipline widely from wherever you are without a gym. Accessible exercises:

    • dips
    • pull-ups
    • muscle-ups
    • front lever
    • back lever
    • rows
    • hamstring curls
    • glute bridges
    • assisted pistol squats
    • leg raises
    • ring push-ups
